My ultimate aim is to nurture the next generation to reach their full academic, emotional and social potential, within anti-racist learning environments. My hope is that young people can be taught, supported and inspired by professionals that they can relate to and represent the wider community. My vision is to be part of and champion a more inclusive and fair education system.
I believe passionately in promoting and delivering inclusive, anti-racist practice within the education sector. I value being able to support children and families from a diverse range of backgrounds, in collaboration with like-minded professionals. I advocate that we should all have high expectations of all children. I believe that despite any challenges young people may face, all have strengths and are capable of progress. I feel strongly that every young person deserves access to good quality, inclusive educational provision.
I’m Dr. Ama Collison and I am an Educational and Child Psychologist, based in South West London. Educational Psychology practice supports children or young people aged 0-25 who are experiencing barriers to their learning and engagement in school life. These challenges can include a range of emotional and social difficulties and/or learning difficulties.
"I liked that I could talk about an issue that was bothering me one to one. It made me feel happy because I could express my feelings and it could be dealt with."
Maxwell, aged 9
"We had Ama as a role model guest speaker at our monthly meet-up for the young girls on our ITL Scholars Programme. She is a great communicator and was so amazing in keeping them fully engaged as she candidly shared her career journey and gave useful life tips. She also made them feel comfortable to ask lots of questions. A testament to how well her session went is that two of the girls are now considering a career in psychology"
Adinke, Education Lead, Inspiring Tomorrow's Leaders (ITL)

A passionate and mild mannered professional who is an unapologetic advocate for young people. I feel very confident placing my students and their families in her very capable hands."

“Ama is such a great listener, she puts you at such ease for you to share your issues and all her advice is so thoughtful and in depth that it feels achievable to start to implement.”
